Grains Bakery was built on the values of hard work and traditional craftsmanship, deeply rooted in the agricultural heritage of Grande Prairie. Growing up on a family grain farm that remains a treasured local staple, the vision for the bakery has always been centered on maintaining a natural, honest approach to baking.

Simple, fresh ingredients are the standard at Grains Bakery. Every product is crafted the traditional way, honoring time-tested methods and a commitment to genuine, high-quality food for the community.

Where We Are Now

Now as a 4000 sq/ft scratch bakery, Grains boasts a beautiful new café seating area adorned with historic barn woods and metals from the family farm; a market to better serve it’s bread, pastries, and confections; all the while serving staple café items on their ever fresh hand-shaped bread.

With our continued passion for handcrafted, all-natural baking, we’re excited to expand with a second location at 101-11702 104 Ave Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6K3! This new space allows us to share our love for traditional baking with even more of our community.

Grains Bakery; passing on a traditional family staple of beautiful bread made by hand with all-natural ingredients.

I was hunting for the best sandwich in town. 10/10. I got the chicken club panini, a bacon brie soup, and a poppyseed roll. The panini is on sourdough, the soup was heavenly, the poppyseed roll was a perfect treat to hit the spot.

Best sourdough and focaccia hands-down. They had pizza focaccia today and I pray to god they make this flavour again. Best ever so far!

Their bread is great, but their coffee is terrible. They should stick to what they’re good at.

The toffee cake was incredible, moist decadent chocolate. Creamy filling well worth it. The rice krispy and chocolate treats make a great escape for your taste buds. Perfectly yummy

Our Reviews Only Team recently visited Grains Bakery Cafe once again, and unfortunately, some of our old favourites didn’t live up to our expectations.

The chicken salad sandwich used to be excellent, with noticeable pieces of chicken, celery, and a creamy filling packed into their delicious bread. This time, the filling was much smoother and paste-like, quite salty, and seemed to have very little celery or texture.

The chocolate brownie was another disappointment. We remember it being rich, moist, and decadent, but this time it tasted much more like a basic packaged brownie.

Spacious spot to meet friends! Enjoyed their Mediterranean Soup, which was rich, flavourful, and filling! Friends had sandwiches that were bigger than a handful and oozing with goodness - an easy meal to share!

Great food for many years, baked goods are excellent! I am shocked that Grains does not have a functionable website of their own with access to an actual menu and daily soups / specials! It is after all 2024!

First time visit and so impressed! Grains made an incredible lunch. The sandwich was so big I took the other half to work for lunch the next day! The staff were very friendly. I will definitely be back.
